GCSU women defeat Flagler, 65-47

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − Chimere Jordan scored a game-high 16 point and grabbed seven rebounds to help lead Georgia College & State University to a 65-47 win over Flagler College in a Peach Belt Conference women’s basketball game Monday night at Flagler Gym.

The Bobcats won their sixth game in a row and improved to 13-4 overall and 6-1 in the conference. The Saints lost their fifth game in a row and fell to 6-10 overall and 1-6 in league play.

Antoinette Reames added 13 points and seven rebounds while Candice Clark contributed 13 points and five rebounds. Shandrea Moore tallied six points and five assists and grabbed seven rebounds.

GCSU forced 20 Flagler turnovers and converted those into 20 points.

Jalisa Foster (St. Petersburg, Fla./Pinellas Park HS) led the Saints with 12 points and seven rebounds while Jen Knurek (Orlando, Fla./Lake Mary HS) added 10 points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.

The Bobcats used a 19-7 run early in the first half to erase a 4-3 Saints lead and never relinquished the lead.

Knurek had a traditional three-point play to pull the Saints to within five (43-38) with 9:48 left in the game, but GCSU used a 19-3 run over the next 5:15 to take a commanding 61-42 lead.

Flagler hosts North Georgia College & State University on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Flagler Gym.
