PEMBROKE, N.C. − Shahmel Brackett poured in a game-high 27 points on 9-of-17 shooting from the field and added five assists to lead UNC Pembroke to a 102-77 win over Flagler College in a Peach Belt Conference East Division men’s basketball game Saturday afternoon at the English E. Jones Center.

UNCP ends its season with a 9-18 overall record and 5-13 mark in the Peach Belt Conference. Flagler ended its inaugural season in the Peach Belt with an 11-16 overall record and a 6-12 record in the league.

Brandon Thomas recorded a double-double with 24 points, 16 rebounds and six steals for the Braves while K.J. Cooper and Taylor Hukill added 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The UNCP defense held Flagler to 19.4% (6-31) shooting from the field in the first half, enabling the Braves to hold a 46-29 lead at the half.

D.J. Ferguson (Orlando, Fla./Bishop Moore HS) tallied 19 points and dished out five assists to lead the Saints. Eddie Fowler (Deltona, Fla./Pasco-Hernando CC) added 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He also made all eight of his free throw attempts. Chad July (Fort White, Fla./Bridgton (Maine) Academy) recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. David Clark (St. Augustine, Fla./Pedro Menendez HS) chipped in with 10 points coming off the bench.

Flagler went the last 6:07 of the first half without making a field goal. The Saints went 0-for-4 from the floor and turned the ball over six times in that time span. Flagler did make 8-of-its-10 free throw attempts.
