Flagler men's golf wins Barton Intercollegiate; Lamb earns medalist honors

WILSON, N.C. − The 21st-ranked (Golf World/NIKE Division II Coaches Poll) Flagler College men’s golf team won the Holiday Inn & Express Suites Barton College Intercollegiate by three strokes over the host school, No. 10 Barton College, which concluded Tuesday at the Wilson Country Club (par 72; 6851 yards). Patrick Lamb (Lake Wales, Fla./Western Carolina U.) earned medalist honors after besting Darren Smith of Barton on the second playoff hole when he drained a 12-foot birdie putt. Lamb and Smith shot a 4-under par 140.

The tournament win was Flagler’s third this spring in as many tournaments.

Also finishing in the top 10 for the Saints were Chris Bray (Hilliard, Fla./Hilliard HS) and Andrew Pressentin (Estero, Fla./Miami Palmetto HS). Bray carded a 74 in the final round to finish with an even par 144 to finish in a tie for sixth. Pressentin shot a 73 to close the tournament with a 1-over 145 and finished in a tie for eighth place.

Joel Dahlenburg (St. Augustine, Fla./Bartram Trail HS) finished in a tie for 3rd place with a 7-over 151 and Justin Wingo (Fairfax, Va./George Mason U.) shot a 158 and tied for 65th place to round out Flagler’s scorers. Both shaved off strokes from their first round on Monday. Dahlenburg improved by five strokes while Wingo knocked off four strokes from his first 18 holes.

Flagler will play its final regular season tournament Apr. 4-6 at the Buccaneer Invitational at Miami Beach.
