WILSON, N.C. − The 21st-ranked (Golf World/NIKE Division II Coaches Poll) Flagler College men’s golf team leads the 15-team field by three strokes over the host school, 10th-ranked Barton College, in the Holiday Inn & Express Suites Barton College Intercollegiate held Monday at the Wilson Country Club (par 72; 6851 yards). The final round of the 36-hole tournament will be held tomorrow morning.

The Saints shot a 290 and Barton is a close second with a 293. The leader in the clubhouse after 18-holes is Darren Smith of the Barton College “B” Team. He shot a 3-under par 69. He holds a one-shot lead over a trio of players including Flagler’s Chris Bray (Hilliard, Fla./Hilliard HS) and Patrick Lamb (Lake Wales, Fla./Western Carolina U.) who both shot 2-under 70’s.

Andrew Pressentin (Estero, Fla./Miami Palmetto HS) is in a nine-player tie for eighth place with an even par 72. Joel Dahlenburg (St. Augustine, Fla./Bartram Trail HS) is in a tie for 47th place with a 6-over 78 and Justin Wingo (Fairfax, Va./George Mason U.) carded an 81 and is in a tie for 63rd place to round out Flagler’s scorers.
