Flagler women's cross country team earns academic honor

The cross country team earned a team academic award this afternoon.
NEW ORLEANS − The Flagler College women’s cross country team were recognized on the 2009 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II All-Academic Team with a 3.21 team grade point average, which was released this afternoon.

For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Championship and also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA.

Flagler was one of six Peach Belt Conference members to receive the award. Georgia College & State University had the highest team GPA a 3.48. Flagler was third.

Adams State College of Alamosa, Colo., earned USTFCCCA’s Scholar Team of the Year having posted a team GPA of 3.38 and the team brought home the national title.
