The women's tennis team finishes No. 17 in last ITA poll.
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Flagler College women’s tennis team is ranked No. 17 in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II Top 50 Poll released Wednesday. The Saints opened the season ranked No. 46. The Flagler women also closed out by being ranked No. 5 in the Southeast Region.

Flagler posted an overall record of 14-8 and went 8-4 in the Peach Belt Conference. The Saints fell in the Peach Belt Tournament and in the Southeast Regional to the same opponent – Francis Marion University.

Armstrong Atlantic State University sits atop the final poll after winning its third consecutive title. Also representing the conference in the final poll is: Clayton State University (No. 9), Columbus State University (No. 12), Francis Marion University (No. 13), Augusta State University (No. 27) and Georgia College & State University (No. 28).

ST. AUGUSTINE – The No. 13 (Campbell’s/ITA Division II Preseason Top 25) Flagler College women’s tennis program and 33rd-year head coach Walter Shinn announced the 2012 schedule today. Flagler will play 18 matches, eight of which will be played at the Flagler Tennis Center.

SUMTER, S.C. – The Flagler College women’s tennis team played in the USTA/Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA) Southeast Regional Championships last weekend at the Palmetto Tennis Center. The tournament was interrupted by rain and many of the final matches were conducted on home courts.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Flagler College’s Rachel Gould and Gabby Scammacca both earned Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Women’s Tennis Team honors, as released this afternoon by conference officials. Both were named honorable mention.
